JONATHAN GRAY, Partner
A practicing attorney since 1990, Jonathan is a dedicated advocate for emerging and established producers, production entities, directors, writers, financiers and distributors in film, television and other media. He has served as production counsel for a vast number of independent films and television shows, guiding clients from rights acquisition through distribution. Jonathan is also an experienced trial lawyer and has produced and executive produced several independent film productions.
EVAN KRAUSS, Partner
Evan is a devoted entertainment lawyer with extensive experience in music, film, television and multimedia projects. He represents clients across a wide array of musical genres, negotiating agreements with major record and publishing companies, as well as recording, licensing, agency, touring and management contracts. Evan handles all aspects of film and television production, including financing, story rights, talent, and distribution agreements. Before joining the firm in 2005, Evan was an attorney with the law firm formerly known as Leibowitz Roberts & Ritholz.
ANDRÉ DES ROCHERS, Partner
André represents clients from all areas of the motion picture, television, new media, music and publishing industries, including producers, financiers, directors, writers and actors. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, André practiced corporate transactional law with the firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP, working in both its London and New York offices.
IAN STRATFORD, Partner
Ian represents production companies, financiers and filmmakers in connection with film and television financing, development, production and distribution. Before rejoining the firm in 2008, Ian served as the CEO of USA Film and Television Management, a media investment advisory firm for corporations and high net-worth individuals. He started his career at The Endeavor Agency before serving as an associate with this firm from 2004 to 2005.
JOSHUA SANDLER, Partner
Josh represents writers, directors, actors and producers in the film, television and new media industries. He also advises production companies and investors in the financing, development, production and distribution of motion picture, television and new media content. Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Josh established and maintained his own law practice, which he founded after working with the New York entertainment law firms of Schreck Rose Dapello Adams & Hurwitz LLP and Epstein Levinsohn Bodine Hurwitz & Weinstein LLP. He started his career in the entertainment and media practice of O’Melveny & Myers, LLP in Los Angeles.
NICOLE COMPAS, Partner
Nicole serves clients in the motion picture and music industries with a focus on full production counsel for independent films, negotiating and drafting agreements from the acquisition of story rights through distribution. Nicole was a legal intern with the firm while in law school and joined the firm as an associate in 2008.
CHRISTIAN SIMONDS, Counsel
Christian primarily serves clients in the film and television industries, including production companies, financiers, producers, writers, directors, talent and musicians. He also serves as legal counsel to fashion, art and media entrepreneurs on matters ranging from financing through operation. From 2002 through 2010, Christian was a corporate associate with Dewey Ballantine LLP and Lowenstein Sandler LLP, concentrating in specialty finance, venture capital, and mergers and acquisitions, before launching his own entertainment/fashion/art/tech practice in 2010.
JARED BLOCH, Associate
Jared primarily serves clients in the film and television industries. Prior to joining the firm, Jared worked with the entertainment law firm Feldman, Golinski, Reedy + Senouf PLLC, working on Broadway and Off-Broadway theatrical productions. While in law school, Jared clerked for the entertainment firm Bruns Brennan Berry PLLC, working on independent motion pictures, and interned in the business affairs departments at the Bravo/Oxygen networks and William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. Before law school, Jared worked for the Endeavor Talent Agency and the Academy Award-winning film producer Scott Rudin.
KRISTINA CHIU, Associate
Kristina primarily serves clients in the film and music industries. Prior to joining the firm, she gained experience as a legal intern in the Editorial Assets & Rights department at Conde Nast, and at Cowan DeBaets Abrahams & Sheppard LLP, where she worked on transactional matters in the photography industry. While earning her law degree, Kristina also worked for the General Counsel at LF USA, a global sourcing company, and in Shanghai at the law firm King & Wood Mallesons.
BIANCA GRIMSHAW, Associate
Bianca primarily serves clients in the music and motion picture industries. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Bianca gained experience at the Davis Firm PLLC in transactional matters for high-profile music industry clients, and at the Law Offices of Jonathan Pardo, where she focused on contracts for indie music and film.
JANNA MIKSIS, Associate
Janna primarily serves clients in the motion picture industry with a focus on full production counsel for independent films, negotiating and drafting agreements from the acquisition of story rights through distribution. While earning her law degree, Janna interned within the legal department at Classic Media, as well as the arts-related legal aid organization Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Janna was also a legal intern with Gray Krauss Stratford Des Rochers while in law school and joined the firm as an associate in 2013.
KEVIN ORSZAK, Associate
Kevin primarily serves clients in the film and television industries. While earning his law degree, he worked at the Indie Film Clinic, providing legal services to independent filmmakers. Prior to joining Gray Krauss Stratford Sandler Des Rochers, LLP, Kevin interned at the entertainment law firm Bruns Brennan & Berry PLLC, where he focused on contracts for film, television, and new media productions.
AMY STEIN, Associate
Amy primarily serves clients in the motion picture industry. While earning her law degree, Amy gained legal experience at Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP, as well as at the legal aid organization, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Amy also holds a BFA degree from the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts, and prior to law school she worked at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. Amy joined Gray Krauss Stratford Sandler Des Rochers LLP as an associate after interning with the firm during law school.
ANITA SURENDRAN, Associate
Anita primarily serves clients in the motion picture and music industries. She also holds considerable legal experience in the fashion industry, having worked in the legal department of Stuart Weitzman, LLC prior to joining the firm in 2010. While earning her JD/MBA degree, Anita worked for the General Counsel at Warner Music Latin America, and then in Singapore for White & Case LLP, where she actively participated in several multinational corporate transactions.
